Tools
Access to an extensive library of proven tools and knowledge built for business coaches, by business coaches.
The PBCA is home to more than a hundred business coaches from around the world who share best practices, tools, strategies, support, and friendship. We get to know each other on skills calls, on our forum, at our conferences and retreats. We have a full-range of members from beginning coaches to some of North America’s most established and highest-earning business coaches and consultants. The best part of the PBCA is that no matter your experience level, you will be supported and welcomed by everyone!
Our member-coaches:
- value their independence, but they don’t want to be alone.
- are smart enough to create all of their tools and programs from scratch, but would rather invest their time working with clients than developing all of their own material.
- have an “abundance” mindset and appreciate that the “whole” of our membership is so much greater than the sum of our individual coaches! We hope you’ll join the family!
Who PBCA Membership Is Built For
PBCA member-coaches are Certified Professional Business Coaches (CPBC) running active business coaching practices. The membership exists for working coaches who want a vetted toolkit, structured peer support, and a credentialed network of other professionals doing the same work.
The community is intentionally focused. The PBCA is for professional business and executive coaches — not life coaches, wellness coaches, or general personal-development coaches. That focus makes peer conversations directly relevant and the shared toolkit immediately useful in real client engagements.
What's Included in PBCA Membership
Membership combines four things working coaches typically have to assemble individually:
- Tools and Methodology — Access to the PBCA library of proven coaching tools, frameworks, intake processes, and engagement structures developed and refined across thousands of real client engagements.
- Monthly Peer Groups — Professionally facilitated mastermind calls where you bring real client challenges and get practical input from other certified coaches who have likely seen something similar.
- Conferences and Retreats — Annual PBCA conferences and Master Coach Retreats where the network gathers in person to share what's working, develop advanced skills, and build relationships across the alliance.
- Coach Directory Listing — Inclusion in the PBCA Coach Directory, which connects business owners across North America with certified business coaches who match their needs.
Why Join an Alliance Rather Than Coach Solo
Solo coaching is isolating. Engagements you can't take don't get referred anywhere. Tools you've built stay in your laptop. Methods that aren't working don't have anyone to help you diagnose them.
An active alliance changes that economics. Member-coaches refer engagements they can't take to other certified coaches. Tools and frameworks circulate. Difficult clients get unstuck through peer input. New coaches ramp faster because they're not reinventing what experienced coaches in the network already solved.
From Certification to Membership
The PBCA pathway is straightforward: complete the 4-day Certified Professional Business Coach (CPBC) program, earn the credential, and become eligible to join as a member-coach. Certification is the prerequisite for membership — it ensures every member has worked through the same methodology and shares the same baseline vocabulary, which makes peer collaboration meaningful.
For experienced coaches who already have a coaching practice, the CPBC program adds the credential and the network. For professionals new to coaching, it's the most direct path from interest to active practice with a community ready to support you.
Continuing Development Inside the Alliance
Membership is the entry point to ongoing development, not the endpoint. PBCA member-coaches continue building their practice through additional certifications and credentials:
- BEE and LEE Certifications — Business Effectiveness Evaluation and Leadership Effectiveness Evaluation diagnostic frameworks that PBCA coaches use as engagement deliverables.
- Master Coach Certification — Advanced credential for coaches building toward the highest tier of professional practice.
- PBCA Business Operating System (BOS) Certification — For coaches working with growth-stage companies that need a structured operating framework.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can become a PBCA member?
PBCA membership is open to Certified Professional Business Coaches (CPBC) and to credentialed business coaches who have completed the PBCA certification process. Membership is exclusive to professional business and executive coaches.
What do I get with PBCA membership?
Members receive access to the PBCA tool library, monthly facilitated peer group calls, professional development opportunities, the PBCA member directory listing, conference and retreat eligibility, and the broader community of certified business coaches across the United States and Canada.
How is PBCA different from other coaching associations?
Most coaching associations cover the broad coaching profession — life, wellness, executive, and more. The PBCA focuses exclusively on professional business and executive coaches. Our tools, peer programs, and community are built specifically for coaches working with business owners and leadership teams.
Do I have to be PBCA-certified to join?
Yes. PBCA membership requires the Certified Professional Business Coach (CPBC) credential. The certification course is the entry point to membership.
What happens at PBCA peer group calls?
Peer group calls are professionally facilitated mastermind sessions where member coaches share real client challenges and receive practical input from other certified coaches. They run monthly and are a core member benefit.
Are there conferences or in-person events?
Yes. PBCA hosts annual conferences and Master Coach Retreats where the network connects in person to share what's working, develop new skills, and build relationships with other certified business coaches.
How do I apply for membership?
The path to membership begins with PBCA certification. After completing the Certified Professional Business Coach (CPBC) program, you become eligible to join as a member-coach. Start by submitting an application or requesting a meeting with our team.
